THE CHEVY SILVERADO CUSTOM SPORT PACKAGE SET TO RETURN FOR 2015

Although we’re fond of all of our vehicles at Robbins Chevy, we don’t make any secret of the fact that nearest and dearest to our hearts is the Chevy Silverado. We probably don’t need to dive too deeply into why this is, but some combination of Texas and trucks and iconic American style can probably go a long way toward giving you an answer.

For this reason, we greet truck news a little differently than so-called “regular” news. And this one is a doozy: we’re is bringing back the Chevy Silverado Custom Sport Package for 2015. This is big news, so let’s get into what this all means.

2015 Chevy Silverado Custom Sport Houston TXThe History: You’ll notice that we said that they’re bringing it back. The Silverado Custom Sport (seen at right) goes all the way back to 1967, when Chevy was looking for a way to bridge the growing gap between what trucks were known for (work, and pretty much nothing else) and what people were wanting them to be ready for (that is, pretty much everything else in life). The resulting brainstorm resulted in the Custom Sport, which moved away from the rough-and-tumble nature of old with bucket seats, plush interiors and chrome accents. Was it a success? Well, we’re having this conversation, aren’t we?

The Future: Well, let’s get right to it. The 2015 Chevy Silverado Custom Sport Package will feature a body-colored grille, front bumper and rear bumper. It will be available in both the LT and LTZ (including Z71) trims, either in black or white (for the LT) and black or White Diamond Tricoat (for LTZ). It will also feature projector-beam headlamps, chrome door handles, mirror coverings and side moldings, and will feature chrome 20-inch wheels. In short, it is going to be awesome.
